Cupcake Crazy: Pop-Up Shop Style

August 29, 2012

We love a good Pop-up shop, aka Trunk Show, and are always racking our creative minds for cute and fun ways to make an impression on guests. Afterall, it’s all about being the hostess with the mostess! Lately, we’ve been just a little obsessed with yummy treats for guests to devour. Check out our “Let’s Eat - Trunk Show Style” Pinterest board for some mouthwatering edible inspirations.

At Merchandiser Valerie Soule’s recent show, the first twenty guests had dibs on these little cupcake confections! I mean come on, not only are these cupcakes totally adorable but they are so on brand we just love ‘em.

Chloe + Isabel Cupcakes

All thanks go to Sugar Babies Cupcakery in Sherman Oaks for making Valerie’s cupcakes absolutely gorgeous and delicious too. We can’t wait to see what our other great ideas our Merchandisers and Hostesses come up with next! If you’ve got a great trunk show treat, email us a pic (and recipe if you DIY’d ‘em yourself) to [email protected].

Now if only we could get a few of these lovelies flown to NYC we would be in dessert heaven…

Elderflower Lemonade

April 25, 2012

If you’ve never tasted anything Elderflower-flavored, trust us, it’s an amazingly refreshing sensation — very floral and fruity. Imagine picking a pear from a tree in the French Alps. It’s sophisticated yet down-to-earth, and perfect for a summertime trunk show. Intrigued yet? Buy a bottle of Elderflower syrup in a specialty store or online and start trying it in different beverages, cocktails, and recipes! Here’s our fave for a summer evening: Elderflower Lemonade.

What you’ll need (per glass):

3 Pumps Elderflower syrups (buyat specialty stores or online)

About ¾ of a cup of water

Lemon slices

Ice cubes

How to:

1. Fill a glass with ice cubes to top

2. Pour water until 4/5 of the glass is full

3. Add Elderflower syrup flavoring

4. Add lemon slices, and garnish with Elderflowers — if you can find them! Lavender also works and adds a nice color pop.

5. Stir + serve!

Garden Party Decorations!

April 18, 2012

We absolutely fell in love with our “Garden Partythemed spring shoot. This theme is perfect for a spring or summer trunk show. Picture Elderflower Lemonade with Wildflower Ice Cubes, French Macarons, Flower Cupcakes … what else could you possible need? Some decorations, of course! Here are some ideas we used at the photo shoot that are super-simple but make a gorg impact.

Paper Flowers

The perfect bouquet that never goes away! *Note: these are for life-size flowers. Giant flowers would require a bigger square of paper*

What you’ll need:

Construction paper — any colors you like

Pen/Pencil

Scissors

Tape

How to:

1. Draw a spiral on a 4×4″ square sheet of paper

2. Cut out spiral along the lines you have drawn

3. Begin rolling up the spiral from the outside

4. Keep on rolling until there is no more left to roll!

Flower Wall

Add color to any room with this great conversation starter!

What you’ll need:

Silk flowers

Tape — fun colors or clear

Blank wall

How to:

1. Find your blank ‘canvas’ of a wall that will provide a great backdrop — maybe behind the food buffet table, or in front of where everyone will take pictures.

2. Tape fake silk flowers in lines up the wall, with each flower “stripe” equal distance from the next. You can use clear tape, but we used bright yellow!

3. Mix it up and do whatever you think looks best: all flowers up with stems below, flowers facing down toward ground and stems up, or alternating directions.

4. That’s really all there is to it! Have fun with your color scheme and don’t worry too much about it looking perfect.
