How did you get involved with c+i? I met the founder Chantel through a mutual friend and started talking about my passion for fashion. She told me about the financial opportunity that chloe + isabel could offer me in the fashion jewelry industry and we quickly realized I would be a good fit as a c+i Merchandiser. The rest is history! Tell us about your first trunk show… My first Trunk Show was a wine + cheese ‘fashion therapy’ theme at my parent’s house in Connecticut. It was incredibly successful! I had an awesome turn out of women, they all oooh’d and ahhh’d over the jewelry, and everyone had a great time. The biggest perk was that I left with almost $400 for 3-4 hours of work….$100 an hour? I’ll take that! What is your favorite part of the ‘social shopping’ experience? I love the laid back environment. I get to engage and socialize with the women in a way that is so different than retail… I actually get to know my clients at trunk shows and help them find jewelry that fits their personal style. How would you describe your style? I’m all about trying different looks so its hard to pinpoint…I am a mix of boho chic and refined trendy. Who are your style influencers? Blake Lively + Alexa Chung. They both have an effortless sense of style with a hint of glam. Where do you go for fashion inspiration? Online I love Refinery29, Lookbook.nu, Chictopia, and a bunch of fashion blogs. I read Vogue religiously…and the streets of NYC will always be inspiring to me for fashion. Do you have a favorite jewelry memory? I have a giant turquoise stone ring that my mom made in high school. She passed it on to me a few years ago and I love it. What are you learning about yourself through the c+i experience? After a few months of being a Merchandiser I have so much more confidence in my ability to run my own business and get as much out of this job as I put into it. I am learning that I have the capability to take control of my finances which is really empowering.
